The Add to Quote button appearance can be managed directly from the plugin’s Appearance settings.

These settings are usually sufficient for most themes.

However, some themes apply strong CSS rules that may override plugin styles.

If the appearance settings do not reflect on the front end, you can use the custom CSS examples below.

All CSS snippets include !important to ensure they are not overridden by theme styles.

Primary Button Class

Use this class to target all Add to Quote buttons.

Important Notes

  • Always try Appearance settings first before using CSS.

You can add custom CSS from Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS or via your child theme stylesheet.

Recommended Customization Workflow

  1. Configure the button style from Appearance settings.

  2. Check the front end for theme conflicts.

Appearance Settings (Common Options for All Buttons)

The appearance settings allow you to control how each button looks on the frontend.
These options are mostly the same for all buttons and help match your site design.

Button Text
Lets you change the label shown on the button.
Example: “Add to Quote”, “Accept”, or “Reject”.

Style
Choose how the button is displayed.
You can show it as a normal button or as a text link.

Background Color
Controls the main background color of the button.
You can use transparent or any custom color.

Background Hover Color
Sets the background color when the user hovers over the button.
This improves visibility and user interaction.

Border Color
Defines the border color of the button.
Useful for matching your theme style.

Border Hover Color
Changes the border color on hover.
Helps highlight the button when users move their cursor.

Text Color
Controls the text color of the button label.
Make sure it contrasts well with the background.

Text Hover Color
Changes the text color when hovering over the button.
Improves readability and visual feedback.

After adjusting the button settings, click Submit to save your changes.


Status Appearance Settings (Common Options for All Statuses)

These settings control how each quote status appears on the quote page.
They also define the message shown to customers for that status.

Label
Defines the name of the quote status.
This label is visible to customers on the quote page.

Background Color
Sets the background color for the status label.
Useful for visually distinguishing different statuses.

Text Color
Controls the text color of the status label.
Ensure good contrast for better readability.

 

Quote Page Default Message
This message is shown on the quote page when the quote has this status.
You can use basic HTML tags like <b>, <i>, <a>, etc., for formatting.

After updating any status settings, click Submit to save your changes.

WooCommerce allows you to customize all PSM Request a Quote email notifications directly from the email settings page.

Access Email Settings

Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Emails.
Here, you will see a list of all available email notifications, including those added by PSMRAQ.

Open an Email for Editing

Click the Manage button next to the email you want to customize (for example, [PSMRAQ] Accept Quote).
This opens the email configuration screen.

Enable or Disable Email

Use the Enable this email notification checkbox to turn the email on or off.
If disabled, the email will not be sent.

Configure Recipients

Use the Recipient(s) field to set who receives the email.
You can add multiple email addresses separated by commas.

Update Subject and Heading

The Subject controls the email subject line.
The Email heading controls the main heading shown inside the email body.
You can use placeholders like {site_title} and {order_number}.

Email Type Selection

Choose the Email type (HTML or Plain text).
HTML is recommended for better formatting and readability.

CC and BCC Options

Use the Cc(s) field to send a copy to additional recipients.
Use the Bcc(s) field to send hidden copies without showing recipients.

Preview and Test Email

Use the Email preview section to see how the email looks.
Click Send a test email to test the email delivery.

Customize Email Template

Scroll to the HTML template section at the bottom.
Click Copy file to theme to override the default template.
You can then edit the template from your theme folder for advanced customization.

Save Changes

After making changes, click Save changes to apply them.

The quote life-cycle shows how a quote moves from the first request to the final outcome. Each step has a clear purpose and status.

New Quote Request

This is the starting point.
A customer submits a quote request from the website.
The quote is created in WooCommerce with the status New Quote Request, and the admin is notified.

Pending Quote

The admin reviews the request and prepares the quote.
Prices, quantities, expiry date, and messages can be updated.
Once the quote is sent to the customer, the status changes to Pending Quote.

Customer Decision

The customer reviews the quote from the website or email.
They can choose to Accept or Reject the quote.

Accepted Quote

If the customer accepts the quote, the status is updated accordingly.
The quote is converted into a WooCommerce order, and the admin is notified.

Rejected Quote

If the customer rejects the quote, the status changes to Rejected Quote.
No order is created, and the quote is closed.

Expired Quote

If the customer does not respond before the expiry date, the quote is marked as Expired Quote.
The customer can request a new quote if needed.

Customer Actions on the Website

When a customer opens the quote page on your site, they can see the quote details, pricing, and validity.

  • Accept Quote
    The customer can accept the quote to proceed with the order. Once accepted, the quote is converted into a regular WooCommerce order.

  • Reject Quote
    The customer can reject the quote if they do not wish to proceed. The quote status is updated accordingly.

  • View Quote Details
    Customers can review products, quantities, prices, and any messages added by the admin before taking action.

Customer Actions via Email Notifications

Customers can also take action directly from the quote emails sent by the system.

  • Accept Quote from Email
    The email contains a link or button that allows the customer to accept the quote without logging in.

  • Reject Quote from Email
    The customer can reject the quote using the option provided in the email.

  • View Quote Online
    A link in the email lets the customer open the quote on the website to review full details before making a decision.

What Happens After Customer Action

Quote Request

This section displays the original message submitted by the customer during the quote request process.
It helps the admin understand the customer’s requirements, expectations, or any special notes provided at the time of requesting the quote.

Quote Options

This section lets the admin configure important quote-related settings before sending it to the customer.

  • Expires
    Sets the expiration date for the quote. After this date, the quote will automatically be treated as expired if not accepted.

  • Text before product list
    Allows you to add a custom message that appears above the product list in the quote email.

  • Text after product list
    Allows you to add a custom message that appears below the product list in the quote email.

  • Attachments
    Enables attaching files (such as PDFs, specifications, or terms) that will be included with the quote sent to the customer.

Check Quote Before Sending

This section helps you verify the quote email before sending it to the customer.

  • Send a test email
    Enter an email address and send a test version of the quote email to preview how it will look to the customer.

  • PDF Preview
    Check the PDF before sending to the customer. 

Purpose of Quote Actions

These actions ensure that the quote is accurate, clearly communicated, and professionally presented before it reaches the customer.

They also give the admin full control over messaging, validity, attachments, and testing—making the quote approval process smooth and reliable.

Quote requests appear alongside regular WooCommerce orders but are clearly identified by their quote-specific statuses.

Accessing Quote Requests

Navigate to WooCommerce → Orders in your WordPress dashboard.
All quote-related orders are listed here with their respective quote statuses.

Identifying Quote Statuses

Each quote request is labeled with a distinct status to help you quickly understand its current stage.

  • New Quote Request – A newly submitted quote request from a customer.

  • Pending Quote – A quote that is under review or awaiting further action.

  • Completed – A quote that has been accepted and converted into an order.

  • Rejected – A quote that has been declined by the customer or the store admin.

Viewing Quote Details

Click on the order number to open the quote.

The PSM Request a Quote plugin uses a shortcode to display the quote form and quote list on a page.

Default Shortcode

[psmraq]

This shortcode shows:

  • The quote product list

  • The request a quote form

Both appear together on the same page.

How to Use the Shortcode

  1. Go to Pages → Add New or edit an existing page.

  2. Paste the shortcode [psmraq] into the page content.

  3. Publish or update the page.

  4. Select this page in Page Settings → “Request a Quote” Page.

Where to Use It

You can add the shortcode in:

  • WordPress page editor (Block or Classic)

  • Elementor shortcode widget

  • Any page builder that supports shortcodes

Important Notes

  • The shortcode is required for the Request a Quote page to work.

  • Without the shortcode, the quote form and list will not appear.
