The steps

For each price, the plugin does these steps in this order:

  1. Start with the price in your store currency.
  2. Multiply by the rate.
  3. Add the fee (a fixed amount, or a percentage).
  4. Apply rounding, if it is turned on.
  5. Take off the Rounding Minus, if you set one.
  6. Show the price with the currency’s own symbol, position, separators and decimals.

You can see a full example in Manage Currencies.

Your store currency is never converted

When the customer uses your store currency, prices are shown exactly as you saved them. No fee or rounding is applied.

Currency format

Each currency has its own format: symbol position, thousand separator, decimal separator and number of decimals. When a customer picks a currency, the whole shop uses that currency’s format. For example, you can show 1,234.50 USD in one currency and 1.234,50 € in another.
