Caching plugins save a copy of your pages to make your site fast. Because a saved copy is the same for every visitor, it can show the wrong currency. Cache plugin mode fixes this.
When to turn it on
Turn on Use cache plugin if you use a caching plugin (such as WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache) or server-level page caching, and one of these happens:
- A customer changes the currency, but the page still shows the old currency after a reload.
- The currency does not stay when the customer goes to another page.
If you do not use any caching, leave it off.
Turn it on
- Go to PSM Plugins → Multi Currency → Advanced.
- Turn on Use cache plugin.
- Click Submit.
- Clear your cache in your caching plugin.
How it works
With cache mode on, pages that can be cached are saved with the prices in your store currency. After the page loads, the plugin asks your site for the prices in the customer’s currency and replaces them on the page. So the price may be shown in your store currency for a very short moment, and then changes.
Real money actions do not use the cache. Adding to the cart, the cart, the checkout and orders always use the correct converted price, with your rate, fee and rounding.
Tips
- Clear the cache every time you change currency settings.
- Do not cache the cart, checkout and account pages. WooCommerce asks caching plugins to skip them, and most plugins do this by default.
