The PSM Request a Quote plugin follows a simple step-by-step workflow between the customer and the store owner.
1. Customer adds products to Quote
The customer browses the store and clicks Add to Quote instead of Add to Cart.
Products are added to the customer’s quote list.
2. Customer submits a Quote Request
The customer opens the Request a Quote page, reviews the quote list, fills out the quote request form, and submits the request.
3. Store owner receives the Quote Request
The quote request appears as a quote order in the WooCommerce orders section.
The store owner also receives an email notification.
4. Store owner reviews and sends a Quote
The store owner reviews the request, adjusts prices if needed, adds messages or attachments, sets an expiry date, and sends the quote to the customer.
5. Customer reviews the Quote
The customer receives the quote by email and can view it on the website.
They can review pricing, messages, and validity details.
6. Customer takes action
The customer can:
-
Accept the quote and proceed with the order
-
Reject the quote
-
Request a new quote
7. Quote status is updated
The quote status updates automatically based on customer action or expiry.
Both the customer and store owner are notified accordingly.
This workflow allows store owners to control pricing while keeping the process smooth and professional for customers.
